Jill Dyer

I have practised Pilates for over 15 years. It was recommended to me by a consultant for back and joint problems.

Since becoming a teacher, I have really appreciated the concept of alignment at each joint and how important it is for our posture; which in turn helps alleviate pain and reduce wear and tear of the joints.   This can all be achieved by regular practice of Pilates.  Using the correct sequence of movements in each exercise allows each joint to move efficiently. Once learnt, these movements can then be utilised in our everyday activities; which will improve, not only our posture, but strength and stamina of the muscles.

I have always been interested in enabling people to improve their health.  Before I studied at Body Control Pilates to become a Pilates teacher, I was a Pharmacist. I have worked in industry, hospital and Community Pharmacy.   I had my own business in Hemel Hempstead for many years, where I also studied for post graduate qualifications such as the Certificate in Pharmacy Practice and Independent Prescriber.

I look forward to seeing you at one of the Tewin Pilates classes.
